With Scotland and Catalonia due to hold independence
referenda in 2014 this could be a year of major constitutional change in
Europe. Swansea University will host a symposium bringing together
international experts to discuss the implication of these for law. The
symposium, Legal Identities in Evolving Nations, is organised by the European
Institute of Identities at Swansea University, in association with the College
of Law. It is aimed at academics, legal practitioners and policy-makers (Law
Society accreditation 4.5 hours, Bar Council accreditation pending). Speakers
include: Prof. Daniel Turp, Université de Montréal; Prof. Josep Reniu,
Universitat de Barcelona; Prof. Michael Keating, University of Aberdeen; former High
Court judge, Sir Roderick Evans and the Rt. Hon. Rhodri Morgan, former First
Minister of Wales.
