New doctoral positions are being offered by the
Department of Law and Anthropology at the Max Planck Institute for Social
Anthropology. The positions start in January 2014:
the Department was set up in the summer of 2012 and the first cohort of
postdoctoral researchers joined it in January 2013. [Its] focus ... is
empirical research that falls within the scope of legal anthropology, with a
particular interest in issues related to law and legal practice in the context
